Australia's chopper rider network...

ride my chop cos I dig the   rush

Of the wind on my face

And my motor’s vibes.

I ride my chop cos I love the sound

Of my open slash cuts

And my tires on the road.

I ride my chop cos I forget

The day’s hassles

And clear my brain.

I ride my chop cos it takes me away

To another world

Where I’m king for the day.

I ride my chop cos it means to me

I’m my own man

And I’m wheeling free.

If you don’t understand, that’s cool. You see,

I ride my chop

Cos it’s part of me.

Coming...

2013... (To be updated in the next few days)

JNovember 3rd... Annual Chopper Muster

Meet 10am at cement pine trees at top of Cross Road. Ride through Eastern Adelaide Hills and then south to Prof's Lodge at Willunga for BBQ.   See SA Annual Events for more info...

November 10th... Gawler Motorcycle only Swap Meet

Meet at swap meet and then leave around 11am for a ride to Tanunda and back through Eden Valley etc

November 13th Wed... 1st Summer Midnight Ride...

Meet Vilies Cafe 8pm, Route to be decided.  Finish at Pancake Kitchen 11.30  Bikes are parked at Pancake Kitchen's front door by prior arrangement.  This is a great night of cool summer evening riding... and very nostalgic to many of us who did this sort of thing most weekends when it was just us and our bikes.  All the coffee shops, hamburger joints and donut caravans are closed now, but starting at Villies and then finally finishing at The Pancake Kitchen which has never closed since it opened in the early seventies is still an experience... the younger blokes love it as much as us older guys.

December...

to be arranged

Other possible events...

Chopper shed nights have gone into recess, but a number of members would like to see them resurrected.  Give Prof a call if you want to get these week night (once every one to two months) events up and running again.

 WA Ride sometime near future...

Two plus weeks. Purpose is to meet up with WA members, there'll be a couple of events on the weekend.  We'll take a direct route over and those who want to can take their time seeing the sights on the way back.  Blokes we know did this trip more than once in the 70's when the road was bull dust and wombat holes... and they did it on 60's/70's bikes.

Let's see a bunch of 60's-80's choppers going over this time.  It will be a breeze compared with 35 years ago, but still a trip to remember... roadside camping, no fancy stuff and no backup.  Who's game?  A number of the WA guys will ride out to meet us and some of the SA guys who can't get enough time off will accompany us to Tumby.

SA Annual Events...

For those who can stay we'll finish up with our traditional sunset ride on the sand between Aldinga Beach and Sellicks Beach.  BBQ tea when we get back. Outdoor 70's chopper movies.

Anyone who would like to stay overnight at Prof's Lodge are very welcome.

  Build that chop...

Be it long and lean or low and mean,

High in the head or low instead,

   Rigid, swing arm, plunger heel...

Anything to give that chopper feel.

Stretch and rake just oozes class.

Chrome, alloy, classy paint job, what a blast.

Harley, Italian, Jap or Brit,

When it’s fully chopped it’ll fit.

Planned in the kitchen, built in the shed,

You spin your spanners, while your lady’s abed.

It’s a part of you, not some mega-buck clone.

Your chop is best ‘cos it’s built at home.

A stocker? No way! That ain’t cool...

It’s over real chops that the chickies drool.

So you build your chop though it’s not all fun.

You sweat and swear ‘til you get it done.

Finished! Your baby's a beaut and tracks real sweet

Roar of exhaust, stretched out feet,

Riding your chopper come what may,

Wind in your face; you're King for the day…
