Front head gasket was leaking oil, so pulled head off on Saturday and installed a new gasket. Left everything to dry (exhaust silicone in particular) over night.

Whole job done with tools I carry in my tool kit. Benefit of Frisco tank is it doesn't need to be removed...

Gave her a decoke while I was at it. Tested for valve leakage by filling the dome with fuel. No leakage...

then went for a test ride this arvo. Hit light rain and got some interesting video riding as well as of the waves challenging HD on the beach. Bike ran fine, no leaks. Some video on Andrew Offe's facebook...

Some great shots of your chop on the beach Prof. Looks like you know your toolbag well.
Got a question - what did you use to decoke the combustion chamber?I read of soaking in ATF, using GM top-end cleaner, methanol-type paint stripper, carb cleaner...someone even suggested oven cleaner - but that is definitely not a good mix with aluminum!

Dad's top secret formula... screw driver to carefully scrape off the thick stuff, then light sand paper.

Even more effective in heavy rain. Will try for one before winter is over.
