wanted Sportster drum hub, mine is cracked

Post by steve » Sun Mar 18, 2018 10:34 pm

Hello all

I stripped the paint of a 1970's Sportster rear drum brake hub today to get ready to paint and lace it up with new spokes.
Close inspection shows a hairline crack running around the hub from the grease nipple hole. It goes all the way around. I have not heard of this before. Therefore I won't be using this hub. Has anyone got a spare hub for sale?

Thanks

Steve

I've made a few enquiries...

Contact HD Development in Melbourne... 03 9670 4747. They will sort you out. Have new brake drums and I'm sure new if not also second hand Sporty hubs. According to my catalogue, they are the same from 1952-1978

You could also try Pacific Harley in Sydney... 02 4322 1666

If you need any other parts for those brakes, they are carried by Mid USA, I deal with EasyR in Qld for all my MId USA parts. I can get them for you but to save postage just go direct.
