Freight $ from the US

Folks,

I'm about to strip my chopper and send it in parts.

In the container I am going to send:

Motor in frame.

In a separate package i'm sending:

Tins
Wheels
Front end
Seat
Exhuast

The quote I've gotten so far for the tins etc was $1800. Anyone know a cheaper way of getting that gear back to Brisbane (from Omaha, Nebraska)?

Also can anyone see any issues sending it back like this?

I think all surface (sea) goes out of L.A. pretty much so start by finding the cheapest way there and then look for a shipper. Lots of containers going out so you may be able to get some last minute unfilled space on the cheap.

Few guys on here have done it privately and one is regular importer/broker of sorts. So I am sure they can at least give you some tips.

Maybe try Chopaweeza on here he's often bring parts in to Oz in containers. Just a thought.

Yeh . I run an FCL every 8 weeks out of LA and run bikes into WA seperately . For a stripped down bike we charge a fair fee + any GST & Quarantine charges .

Yeh mate . I have a deal with another company that only allows me to ship late model Harleys & Ducati's to WA for RAWS Compliancing . No spares , older bikes or strip downs .

Into Sydney I run everything in as I own the full container . I tend to get justifiably paranoid when shipping things for others . So , I like to be there and personally inspect everything after the unpack . I own the company so the buck stops with me . Being thorough means happier customers and happy customers mean more word of mouth referals .
