I know some of those have ended I hope u can still at least see the pics or description! Basically I want a customized bobber something tough and for around us 5000, and wanna know if the above bikes are registrable in aus??? but was wondering if there was any way to get around all the ADR costs and taxes involved ? Maybe by stripping the bikes and sending them in parts ?? How did u do it?
Thanks Adam

Forget it, sounds like you're trying to get the bike you want doing the cheap and nasty way.
There is no way to get around ADRs with a bike you're importing. If you want to avoid ADRs buy a bike locally that is already licensed pre 1976, then hardtail it if it isn't already.

Not looking to get one the cheap and nasty way, a few friends and i are planning on buying them and riding them round a part of the united states for a few weeks, and i would just really like to keep it and bring it home, i may not even neccesarily register it here for quite a while, would just be a nice piece of memorabilia to have.
but yes if it is too hard i will look at buying one here instead my spending limit is around $6-$7000 anyone know of anything around similar to what im looking for ??
cheers

Hi all, I spoke to this young guy on the phone and he seems very genuine and is after a particular look. We discussed hiring there and buying here and I advised he list his question here as there are some very cluey heads here and it would be great to see more people on chops and bobs. I can see how with Aussie $ being so strong it would look attractive. Anyway fire away with the pro's and con's. P.s he is based in Qld so maybe someoneike pommie chop could assist but I don't have contact details anymore.
