THE MEGARIDE

by Tex

We didn't download it off the Web,
Or get it as "E" Mail,
We rode across the country,
Through rain and wind and hail.
We took the challenge.
We rode our bikes.
And travelling side by side,
For two great weeks,
We had some fun.
We did the MegaRide.

There was Harry, Phil and Andrew,
Steve and Spokes and Don.
Madis, John and Gringo,
And Bobba came along.
And Derek, Tex and Bacca,
Stubbsy and Jonesy too,
And Olly, P.C., Keith and Tiff,
Just to name a few.

And the boys from South Australia,
Who rode across their State.
And Judy in the back-up van,
Who followed, just in case.

There were Kwakas, Yammies, Harleys,
And Hondas by the mile,
Triumphs, Suzis, Shovels,
And a Victory, (for a while).

We came from many States,
Across this country wide,
To all meet up at Adelaide,
The conclusion of the ride.

We stayed there with the Offe's,
On a mattress in the shed,
A campfire, movies, workshop,
And a burn-out comp as well.
Which Big John won.
And stuffed his clutch,
While blowing lots of smoke,
And, gosh, we had a laugh or two
When Morton told a joke.

And when we get back to our homes,
Worn out, stuffed and tired,
I know we'll all remember,
The first ever MegaRide.

Nice work Tex.
I think this belongs on the Home Page Andrew, what do you think?
This is priceless
750/4 Sonic chopper.
A custom bike or a chopper should be something that has had the original essence of its existence altered to project the skills, objectives and artistic vision of its creator so the viewer or “beholder” and the creator can be positively stimulated by the actual bold or sublime beauty of the bike. Both need to project an essence of suitability, practicality, function and righteousness that has no stand for mediocrity or aesthetic blasphemy.

Quite eloquently put Tex, but I'd expect no better from a well spoken Gent as yourself

MORTON WILL BE THERE AGAIN
OF THIS YOU CAN BE SURE
TO RECALL JOKES FROM MEMORY
OF DAYS GONE LONG BEFORE

SO WHEN WE RIDE AGAIN MY FRIENDS
AS WE DID BEFORE
WE'LL SIT AT NIGHT BY FIRE LIGHT
AND LAUGH OUR GUTZAS RAW

A BETTER BUNCH OF NEW FREINDS FOUND
HAS NOT BEEN MADE FORE SURE
SO WIND AND RAIN NOR ICE ALL AROND
WILL KEEP MORTON AWAY FROM HIS ENCORE
IM NOT CRAZY ITS JUST OTHER PEOPLES PERCEPTION OF MY NORMALITY THAT DIFFERS

Holy Mackerel!!

I can't compete with Morton!!

He is so vociferous when he is feeling good humoured, that he unequivocally proclaims , in loud and insuppressible boations, in voice that can no more be contained than quicksilver in a bottomless thimble,...... " Crab!! What crab??" :D :?
