Surely you jest.
If I am leaving Aratula by 7:30 then I will be staying at the Aratula motel the night before. It is just as important to get a decent sleep before a long ride as it is an early start.

From whereis.com - Aratula to Moree - 390.6km 4hr 18min

Do you really need to leave there later than 10am????
Even if we stretch it out to 6 Hours to get there we'll be there by 4pm with a couple of hours of sunlight left.
Stop stressing people out. You're not even doing the whole ride so just sit back and enjoy your little weekend away Benny Boy and on Sunday when you ride home you can leave at whatever ungodly hour in the morning you want.

then thru Lismore ,Glen Innis and onto Moree .

That is the long way around for us Bobba.
Probably a nicer ride though. But if you're going to try and convince Ben to take an even longer route he'l try and have us all leaving at 3 in the morning.
Not to say that we can't use the Pacific on the way home though?

From Whereis.com

Start Brisbane, QLD 4000
Via Warwick, Qld 4370
End Moree, NSW 2400
Distance: 481.2km Time: 5hr 24min (approx)

Start Brisbane, QLD 4000

End Moree, NSW 2400
Distance: 686.2km Time: 8hr 5min (approx)

Guys,

The idea is to ride together and leave as early as possible with consideration of the entire Qld team. I have read all the posts and now place my thoughts.... I agree with Tex on all of his posts:

Via Warick = views
Leave as early as possible and as stated above with consideration of everybodies needs = Spa and catch up time with other members plus this will allow time for a once over bike etc...

Things to consider:

Fuel tank size (possible Harley sports tanks = @ 100km range) does anyone have smaller tnak range?

Wild animals - let aviod riding to close to dusk if possible.

Talk time ... lets ensure we have lots of time for talking stopping and enjoying the ride.

Bangalow sounds great BUT I am easy and happy with Warrick route.

So which way?

Where are the meeting spots?

What time are we leaving the various meeting spots?

:?:

I thought the route was already decided?
If we are meeting at Aratula then it doesn't make sense to go any other way than through Warwick.

Times - Okay... consdiering that some of us are leaving from North of Brisbane we are going to make a relatively early start anyway. So.... how about a 9am start at Aratula.
I will not be there earlier than that and I think it is just rude to expect people coming from half way to the Sunshine coast to do so also.

I don't want to see an essay type reply. Just a simple yes or no will suffice.
For those who really object at a 9am start from Aratula well.... Some of us will be happy to see you when we get to Moree. So you're welcome to leave without us at what ever time you would like.
Remembering though.... it is okay to have really early starts for just a day or two but some of us are going to be on the road all week.

Moree-Dubbo

Postby XSChop » Tue Sep 29, 2009 7:47 pm

Just so it's clear to everyone thought I'd explain some things here in case they haven't been spotted on the map page.

Including the one booked by J-J there are now 3 cabins booked at Moree and each will take 5 people. I have said no to linen as we all have sleeping bags. Reaper will collect the cash and pay the park.

Ulysses will meet us somewhere north of Moree (they have not yet suggested a spot but when they do it will be posted here) and plan to provide dinner for $5 a head. However at this stage they are working on 11 riders to feed so if more plan to turn up it's time to tell Reaper.

Next day off to Dubbo and the NSW group will hopefully be waiting at the campsite just north of Dubbo. But in case not you need to be looking for the Burraway Rd turnoff after Brocklehurst.
Meaning if you hit Dubbo you have gone past it !!

Mate some of us wanted the linen, as we are not bringing sleeping bags at least 4-5 of us.

DOH.

Can you ring them back and inform them please. :D

linen

Postby XSChop » Tue Sep 29, 2009 8:26 pm

Ahh well I only booked two cabins and J-J booked the other.
Possibly he has requested linen so you could be in that one.
As I won't be going to Moree I have handed over the final co-ordination to Reaper so best to PM him as now that I have handed over to him I should not really be making changes. Best for him to do so and know what's going on.

Up till this week the info page said for everyone to book individually but I found out late last week that only 2 had booked and it was getting too late to take bookings so I put it to a vote and on the result of that booked the two cabins on behalf of the group so there would at least be somewhere to stay.

We need to know, do the ladies that require linen want starched white or floral?
Do you want pink or fuschia coloured slippers?
Flowers or a fruit bowl?
Shower gel or soap?
Face cloths or sponges?
Talc....perfumed or un-perfumed?

And finally scrunch or fold?

Answers as soon as possible.
