I'll try soon. As you know the weather isn't very favorable as such at the moment!

Dumping those stupid Twin BST40's. Linkages has a hair or slop in them. Makes them ridiculous to try and sync every time I re-jet.
So it will be running a Mikuni VM38-9, roundslide. Just waiting for the manifold and filter to turn up.

I would of made the manifold but the bike sold. So I'm in a bit of rush to get it installed, tuned and out the door.

I'm in the hunt for a new project. I wont be as "limited" with a small budget this time with model choices.
No idea what I'm going to do for a build, I'm shifting my family to NSW for a change. Once settled, I'll be back at it again.

New Mikuni VM38 single carb conversion is done. Took the bulkiness look away from between the heads. Bad night time mobile phone pictures sorry!

Just waiting for the filter to arrive... I wanted to fire it up, but I don't think the neighbors would enjoy it as much as I would. Haha

It really changes the look without that ugly piping cluttering up between the heads.

I have it running. The rear cylinder is missfiring at idle. Its rideable. But once you get it past 1/4 throttle it comes to life firing on both cylinders.
It doesn't seem the mixture is rich, but blows the black soot since one cylinder isn't firing. Both plugs aren't wet, rear one is black though. Front one is a little whitish on the electrode but sooty around the rim.

40 pilot
230 main
Q6 needle jet
6DP1 needle 3rd clip.

40 is the biggest pilot I have.
I'll do some mainjet tests today.

Quick update. Been MIA for a while.. Been building a quick resto on a V star 650.
Anyway the old pipes I turned into shotgun style with removable baffles. The old pipes were welded in.

And here's a few more Pictures of the Virago 1100 BOB before I sold it.

I'm currently busy building a bagged, channeled, sectioned & corvette V8 powered pickup truck. Which is taking a long time. But I will build another bike for myself one day once I finish the truck.

New Yamaha bolt, looks amazingly like your bike. Nice work
Does not work or play well with others
Loud pipes save lives
