Looks like a 50's BMW with a VW motor shoe horned in.

after a little looking, I'm of the opinion that its a Subaru motor,
but in the search I found a few other BMW choppers

I never thought about VW engines, now that I look at it more I think you're right.

I didn't think Subaru had air cooled motors, I may be wrong though.

It looks very similar to a bike put together in the eighties here in VIC.

Defiantly VW rather than Subaru as no radiator & has cooling fins.

I found this Guzzi but it looks all wrong to me

This is gettin rebuilt into a trike on the BBO.
He has owned it for 10 years.
