WA to SA early 80's

Post by Prof » Wed May 30, 2007 12:48 am

Sent in by John Leigh...
Found a few photos of myself and life long friend Graham, when we ventured from WA as far as Whyalla in the early eighties. We lived in the Whyalla caravan park and had loads good times.

Rides were a Z1 and a 750/4 both with extended forks and other minor mods. (WA were very strict)

Hi Dave, I figure my time in Whyalla was around 1981-1982 and whilst I worked as foreman in the Holden dealer, Graham was bar manager at the hotel near the shopping centre Westfields???. Whyalla was really good for riding, on and off road, mudflats, beach etc and we also did a bit of shooting. I remember doing some stupid things like riding from Iron Baron or Knob, forget the names now, at 100+ mph in the dark, dodging the roos back to Whyalla.

As for bikes, I recently sold my shovel and am building a chop with a 750 DOHC as shown in other forums.

Sorry for the delay in reply, John
