Pencil in the bottle...

Post by Prof » Sat Jan 19, 2008 10:45 pm

When he saw this trick on a movie, Paul reckoned it was a set up for the camera... so despite the fact that tea was ready, we just had to go out and try it out. It's easy to do on the shovel as the heavy flywheels makes it hard to stall, but Paul on his Honda picked it up pretty quick. Pic is a bit blurred cos it was getting dark.

Rilda was very nice about the now cold tea... she knows 'boys WILL be boys!

Great fun picking up three pencils from a jar and putting them into three bottles 3m apart. Your hand and shoulders get a bit stiff from controlling a raked front end...

Aw c'mon man!

The seventies... freedom. In the cold, rug up, in the heat strip off.

Spur of the moment man... no time to grab shoes when the evening meal is going cold!

Yes but was more like 10 minutes before indicators came off and Z bars went on. That week the sissy bar went on. and the foloowing weekend it got a 7" over front end and rear lowering blocks. I ran with out a front brake for a week until I could get back to Adelaide and pick up my replacement longer hose.

It's a CB 500/4. I replaced a burnt valve just before I got the shovel on the road and the heads have leaked oil ever since, so it needs pulling down again and re gasketing. I've encouraged Paul to pull it apart and repaint it as well, but he's doing other things at the moment.

Sorry Cromag. Missed your question. Movie is 'Born to Ride'... about a crash hot Knucklehead rider pre WWII who is drafted into the army and trains the army blokes to ride their Wallas. A really funny riding scene at teh beginning and the rest just so-so. Ever seen a WLA doing reapeated wheel stands?
