Re: Almost ready for the road..

Nice one!

Looks like you may have a thing for late 50s/early 60s Dodges as well??

Who are you using for your photo hosting now as I've been 'offline' for a little while and noticed that I couldn't use photobucket to host pics anymore either?

Sellicks Beach Racing

I was surprised to learn that Sellicks Beach had hosted another race meet. I went to the races there in '86 but didn't realise there was another 're-enactment' in '92. It would have been good to be there again and see the spectacle! In case you don't know, here's what I'm talking about: http://www.s...

Finally!

After 9.5 years of ownership, my 1971 Bonny has finally been registered and taken for it's maiden voyage. I bought this bike as a project about 2 months before leaving Adelaide for Canberra (although I didn't know that at the time) where I stayed for 3 years (= 3 years too long) before moving to Syd...

Re: Riding in the USA

Are you talking property or bodily 3rd party?

We bought a car in '91 in LA and spent nearly a whole day in the rego office (what an experience).

We did have a bit of a hassle (can't remember what it was) but 3rd party wasn't an issue.

Things might have changed since then...

Re: Gerry Ride #3... Pt Augusta to Willunga...

Great read as always... I used to do the Adelaide to Roxby route regularly in the late 80s. It seemed it usually rained for the stretch from Adelaide to Pt Augusta, then cleared up a few miles past Pt Augusta (much to my despair as it meant the Woomera road would be open and I'd be able to get back ...

Re: Gerry ride #2 Broken DNA springer...

Geez, that guy at Glendambo must have been rude to make you want to push on to Pimba in that weather! Must be something about country roads and wet weather that makes Triumphs lose their left rear footpegs. The same thing happened to me on my '73 Tiger trying to race a thunderstorm between Gunning a...

Re: Recent sensible rule change in NSW (2016)...

That's good news - the best news since lane filtering was introduced.

I was also told that green slips should be coming down in price next year. I'm not sure how that will be enforced but it is apparently a NSW Govt. directive - we'll see...

Re: 70s style Sissy Bar - Evo Dyna

My first chance to get out for a ride with the new bar on. Had a day off work and the first thing we did was a morning ride. Lucky we didn't put it off because it poured with rain later.

70s style Sissy Bar - Evo Dyna

After unexpectedly selling the sissy bar I made for my dyna (see below), I decided I needed another one. The previous one looks the part on this flat head chopper but it didn't suit my bike and since money talks... http://i961.photobucket.com/albums/ae98/canbro65/HD/Sissy%20Bar_1_zpskfprfc1r.jpg The...

Throttle Roll 2016 - Sydney

If you're in Sydney and want to check out Throttle Roll this year, then here is the link: http://event.throttleroll.com/ It's moved to a larger venue (a whole street) in Marrickville this year so it will be interesting to see how it all looks. Maybe the locals got sick of the show virtually closing ...

Re: Ride to St Albans (Sydney)

Yep, it's in Enmore - not too far from Marrickville so it's inner west and totally hipster. Here's an early article about the Sydney Cafe Racers (who put on the event) from a couple of years ago. http://www.theaustralian.com.au/life/you-can-call-the-sydney-cafe-racers-all-sorts-of-names-but-dont-cal...

Re: Ride to St Albans (Sydney)

Hey Jackson, try http://event.throttleroll.com/ It's held at the Vic on the Park hotel in Enmore (Sydney) I see there's a ticket section which is new - it's always been a free event so I don't know what that's about (there's no tickets available yet). Looks like they're closing the street this year ...

Re: Ride to St Albans (Sydney)

I just wrote a long response that just 'evaporated' when I clicked submit... :? So, to sum up: Thanks guys - it's been a bit of a while since I had the box brownie out (it's been giving me trouble). The next outing will be Throttle Roll in Enmore (Sydney) on June 12th Here's a link to what I posted ...

Ride to St Albans (Sydney)

On Saturday, my girlfriend was keen to go for a ride (OK, so was I) on her postie bike and we knew that a group of riders from Sydney Cafe Racers (the good folk who bring you the Distinguished Gentleman's Ride) would be doing a "5 ferries ride". This is where they ride north of Sydney taking in 5 fe...
